 Pura Raza Espanola (P.R.E) - Andalusian

Pura Raza Espanola (Pure Spanish Breed) horse  - The P.R.E. or Andalusian is one of the oldest horse breeds in the world.  It has been instrumental in the creation of many other breeds, including the Lipizzan, Holsteiner, Hanoverian, Paso Fino, and Mustang.  The Andalusian is a strongly built horse that stands 15.2-16.2 hands and has long, flowing mane and tail.  They are noted for their agility, intelligence, gentle temperments and floating movement.  Historically they have been used as war horses and were favorite mounts of kings.  They are still used for bullfighting and working cattle in their native land of Spain.   Andalusians excel in dressage, jumping, driving, english and western riding disciplines.  Andalusian crosses have become  increasingly popular as sport and endurance horses. Morgan

 The Morgan Horse  -  Figure was born in the U.S. in 1789 and was owned by Justin Morgan.  Figure became known as the Justin Morgan horse.  He was a powerful bay stallion that stood a little over 14.0 hands. He could out pull, out run and out work other horses.  Justin Morgan lived to the age of 32 despite his hard life spent working the fields and hauling freight.  All Morgans can trace their bloodlines back to this one stallion.  The Morgan is a well built, agile, gentle horse that stands 14.1 - 15.2 hands.  Historically Morgans have been used for farming, cavalry mounts, pleasure riding and driving.  Today, the Morgans excel in practically every discipline including but not limited to working cattle, western, english, driving, dressage, endurance, and eventing.  Not to mention, they are a great trail riding and family horses.  The Morgan x Andalusian cross is registerable with the IALHA as a half Andalusian.  For more information, see the Links page.

Quarter Horse

The American Quarter Horse - The QH originated in the United States from Barb, Turk, Arab, and Mustang breeds in the 1600 and 1700's.  The breed was further enhanced by the addition of Morgan, Thoroughbred, Standardbred and Arabian breeds. The American Quarter Horse Association was formed in 1940 to preserve the pedigrees of these amazing horses.  The QH is a tough, compact, heavily muscled, agile horse that stands between 14 -16 hands.  The QH is known for its sprinter speed, cow sense and gentle nature.  Historically, these horses were used for racing, cattle/ranch work, and rodeo eventing.  Today, the QH is used in most riding disciplines.  The QH excels in western, english, dressage, jumping, driving and rodeo events.  The QH x Andalusian cross is the national horse breed of Mexico and is registerable as an Azteca.  For more information on the Azteca breed, see the Links page.
